Bright and upbeat - but moody as fuck - Michael Beharie’s debut album, REACH, weaves together digital synths with crisp world beats and lyrical guitar lines to create a sound both melancholy and celebratory. Best known for his work as lead vocalist for the Brooklyn based synth and drums duo, Tezeo, Beharie instead surprises us here with a completely instrumental record, allowing his unique and masterful melodic constructions to shine brighter than ever.
When not working on his solo synthesizer and guitar project or finishing the debut LP for his duo Tezeo (Dummy, Shinkoyo), Michael Beharie is busy composing string music for films - such as Benjamin Grene’s recent “Survival Prayer” - or recording guitar for artists as diverse as Wish, Mas Ysa, ADR, Lauren Devine and Rush Midnight. Michael’s most recent guitar work can be heard on ADR's "Chunky Monkey" (Hippos and Tanks, 2013).
